Team Tracy
Team Tracy will be out in full force again this year for the 14th annual "Heat It To Beat It" event and we hope that you will join us!
This cutting-edge procedure is largely responsible for saving the life of our friend Tracy Gosson and keeping her cancer-free for the past 4 years. Still relatively unknown, Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) surgery can literally be the difference between life and death, and progressing through life with no cancer recurrence.
By joining us on the walk and/or donating to our Team Fundraising page, you will help raise awareness and provide research funds to one of the most prolific HIPEC surgery centers in the country at The Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy.
HIPEC is a highly effective, concentrated, heated chemotherapy that is delivered directly to cancer cells in the abdomen- this cancer is known as peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). The team at Mercy is one of only a handful of medical institutions in the country that offer this treatment and is dedicating extensive research to the use of HIPEC against cancers of the abdomen, organs within the abdominal cavity, and ovarian cancer.
"Heat It To Beat It" refers to this use of the heated chemotherapy. This event is our chance to give back and to raise awareness and much-needed funds to continue the research that brings us this life saving treatment.
We hope that you can join “Team Tracy” in supporting this important cause by participating in the 14th Annual “Heat It To Beat It” walk or making a donation on my fundraising page.
THANK YOU very much for supporting Tracy and bringing hope to so many others!
